Washington, D.C. (May 2, 2011) - Throughout the 2011 Major League Soccer season, D.C. United collects items at every home game to benefit pre-determined non-profit organizations within the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area. This May, the club will collect new children?s books in support of a United for D.C. initiative, United Reads. As a United for D.C. signature program, United Reads promotes childhood literacy through partnerships with neighboring elementary schools and local health care centers located throughout the greater D.C. area.
